How we work

A requisition passes through six stages between your email and your warehouse. This page describes what happens in each of them, and what you should expect from us while it is happening.

SequenceSix stagesIn order
01

Enquiry received

You send whatever identifies the item — a requisition, a tag list, a drawing, a photograph of a nameplate. We acknowledge it and tell you who is handling it.

  • Enquiry logged and given a reference
  • Named point of contact from the first reply
  • Confirmation of what we have understood
02

Technical clarification

Before anything goes to a manufacturer, we resolve what a manufacturer will ask. This is the step most often skipped, and it is the step that causes wrong parts to arrive three months later.

  • Missing data identified and requested
  • Equipment build and serial cross-checked
  • Alternatives flagged where the original is obsolete
03

Manufacturer sourcing

We approach manufacturers and their works directly. Where more than one route exists, we compare them rather than take the first answer that arrives.

  • Direct approach to the works or authorised channel
  • Comparison on price, lead time and country of origin
  • Availability and minimum order quantities confirmed
04

Quotation issued

One document, itemised line by line. Everything that affects your decision is on the face of the quotation rather than in a footnote.

  • Unit and extended price per line
  • Lead time and country of origin per line
  • Packing, Incoterm and validity stated
  • Deviations from your specification declared
05

Order, inspection & expediting

Once the order is placed we follow it. Status is reported to you on a schedule, not only when you ask.

  • Order acknowledgement and works schedule
  • Regular status reporting
  • Inspection and testing arranged where required
  • Certification collected before release
06

Shipment & delivery

Freight, documentation, clearance and delivery, closed out with a complete document set handed to your stores and your accounts department.

  • Consolidation and export packing
  • Sea or air freight with tracking
  • Customs documentation and clearance
  • Delivery and handover of the full document set

Commercial basis

How we quote

Nothing here is unusual. It is written down so there is no discussion about it after an order is placed.

Default termsCIF Tripoli, Libya. Other Incoterms are quoted on request — EXW, FOB and CIF to other ports included.
PricingItemised per line. Freight and insurance shown against the shipment rather than hidden in unit rates.
Lead timeQuoted per line from the manufacturer, separating production time from transit time.
OriginCountry of manufacture stated on every line, before the order rather than after.
ValidityStated on the face of the quotation, together with the currency.
DocumentationCommercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and manufacturer certificates as applicable to the goods.
ConductHow we behave04 commitments

What we commit to

Four commitments that cost us work occasionally, and are worth keeping anyway.

01 / Honesty on scope

We say no in writing

If an item is outside what we can source, or a date is not achievable, you hear it in the first reply. An enquiry held open with no answer helps nobody.

02 / Traceability

Origin is never vague

Country of manufacture and the supplying works are identified before the order. If a line changes origin during production, you are told before it ships.

03 / Safety

Equipment fit for the duty

Where an item carries a safety function — pressure, lifting, electrical classification, well control — we quote to the certification the duty requires, and we do not offer a cheaper substitute that fails it.

04 / Confidentiality

Your data stays yours

Requisitions, drawings and tag lists are shared with a manufacturer only to the extent needed to quote the item, and never used to approach your organisation elsewhere.

For manufacturers & exporters

Selling into Libya without an office in Libya.

If you manufacture equipment or parts used in oil and gas and you have no established route into the Libyan market, we are a straightforward way in.

  • Enquiries reaching you already technically clarified
  • Local commercial presence and follow-up in Arabic
  • Documentation prepared for Libyan import requirements
  • Import handling and delivery managed at this end
  • Exclusive or non-exclusive arrangements, as you prefer

Questions we get asked

We aim to acknowledge every enquiry within one working day and tell you what we still need. The quotation itself depends on the manufacturer — some items come back in days, long-lead equipment takes longer, and we will tell you which one you are dealing with.

Often, yes. A legible nameplate is the single most useful thing you can send. Where a photograph is not conclusive we will ask for the parent equipment details rather than guess, because a guessed part number is the most expensive kind of mistake in this business.

Yes. CIF Tripoli is our default because it is what most buyers here want to compare, but EXW, FOB and CIF to other ports are quoted on request. Tell us the term your contract requires and the quotation will be built on it.

Yes. We prepare offers for formal tenders and can supply on a call-off basis against an agreed schedule of rates, which suits recurring consumables and routine spares.

It happens constantly with older installed equipment. We look for the successor company, the licensee, or a manufacturer producing to the same drawing, and we present the options with the differences stated rather than passing off an equivalent as original.

Arabic and English, both written and spoken. Documentation is issued in English by default, with Arabic correspondence wherever it is more useful to your team.

One line is enough to start.

A tag number, a nameplate photograph, a page from a requisition. If we can identify the item, we can quote it — and tell you honestly if we cannot.
